Albania’s 9-month trade gap widens

Albania’s trade deficit increased 23.9% year-on-year in the nine months to September, reaching ALL 290 billion (2.4 billion euros), the country’s statistics office said on Monday.
Exports increased 36.5% on the year to ALL 266 billion during the period under review, while imports increased 29.6% to ALL 556 billion.
In September alone, the trade deficit was ALL 36 billion, up 32% per year.
Albania mainly exported textiles and footwear, building materials and metals as well as minerals, fuels and electricity in the first nine months of 2021.
