Albania’s trade gap between January and April widens

Albania’s trade deficit grew 24% year-over-year in the first four months of 2021, reaching ALL 116 billion ($ 40.5 million), the country’s statistical office said on Monday. .
Exports increased by 34.9% on the year to reach ALL 109 billion during the period under review, while imports increased by 29% to 225 billion.
In April alone, the trade deficit totaled ALL 34 billion, up 59.4% year-on-year. Albania mainly exported textiles and footwear, minerals, fuels, electricity, construction materials and metals.
