Chelsea ace Mason Mount has yet to join England after dental surgery
Chelsea superstar Mason Mount has yet to join the England national team after teeth surgery
Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has not joined the England national team since undergoing surgery to his wisdom teeth following an infection, according to Football.London. He was selected by Gareth Southgate even after undergoing an operation.
England will face Albania and San Marino in the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers, and Mount could miss both games due to his recent surgery. He had missed the match against Malmö in the Champions League because of this problem.
He was first diagnosed before the game against Newcastle United, where the Blues had won 3-0 without the midfielder. While he recently played against Burnley on Saturday. he only played the last minutes of the match.
However, Southgate has selected the 22-year-old but it is unclear whether or not he will join his domestic teammates. The situation is said to continue to be monitored, meaning it might fail to adhere if a full recovery is not made.
It is also said that other players showed up at St. George’s Park for the national team, but the Englishman was missing among them. Earlier this week, Thomas Tuchel had indicated that he would not be available or that he would have to register late depending on the resumption.
Tuchel also mentioned that the England international is not at his best due to weight loss. He added that Mount could not follow his normal diet because he could not eat properly and therefore took medication.
