Navis N4 SaaS installed at the port of Durres in Albania

The Port of Durres Container Terminal (CTPD) has completed the installation of Navis’ software as a service (SaaS) N4 solution, transitioning manual operations.
Using the Navis cloud-based Terminal Operating System (TOS), CTPD aims to improve its routine operations and work on continuous terminal innovation.
Managed by Mariner Adriatic, CTPD is located in the port of Durres in Albania.
The port is considered one of the most strategic ports in the Balkans and the Adriatic Sea and offers access to roads and rail.
In recent months, CTPD has invested in improved machinery, terminal automation systems and personnel to improve its efficiency.
Navis Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Managing Director Jacques Marchetti said: âIn just three months, and without any additional investment in hardware or on-site expertise required, Mariner Adriatic was able to convert operations of the terminal and make it one of the first operating sites [the] N4 SaaS in the Cloud.
âWith the full suite of N4 features available in our cloud offering, the device now has the ability to expand the system as productivity and demand increase. ”
Less than two weeks after the introduction of the implementation project, Mariner Adriatic was able to configure and test the system.
All associated activities were overseen by an entirely remote team of terminal operators.
The terminal launched the system incrementally through the cloud, starting at the door, going through the construction site, then transport operations.
Subsequently, the terminal launched equipment control and electronic data interchange (EDI) functionalities, as well as business intelligence (BI) reports and integrations with external systems.
In May, APM Terminals (APMT) Mumbai completed the installation of Navis’ N4 solution to enable customers to better interact with the terminal.
N4 provides better visibility into container tracking and truck turnaround times for better planning, as well as support for container pickup and drop-off.
