The Cabinet affirms the government’s interest in raising the level of services
JEDDAH — The Cabinet, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman at Al-Salam Palace on Tuesday afternoon, welcomed the results of the visits by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to the Republic Hellenic (Greece) and the French Republic recently.
The Cabinet then dealt with the results of the visits of the Crown Prince and discussions with the leaders of these two countries, which confirmed the strength of relations, the common desire to strengthen them in various fields.
The nations also pledged to enhance ongoing coordination and consultation work on issues of common concern in a manner that serves the interests of the peoples of the three countries and ensures security and stability in the region.
There was the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding between the Kingdom and Greece, and emphasis was placed on deepening and developing the strategic partnership with the French Republic.
At the start of the session, the King informed the Cabinet of the content of the two messages he received from the President of the Republic of Tunisia and the President of the Central African Republic.
The Council of Ministers reiterated the Kingdom’s affirmation during the meeting (Group of 77 + China) at ambassadorial level of its commitment to work and international cooperation to combat climate change and contribute effectively to the achievement of the objectives. in this field through its qualitative initiatives, in particular (Green Saudi Arabia), (Green Middle East) and (Circular Carbon Economy).
This was underscored by Minister of State, Cabinet Member for Shoura Council Affairs and Acting Minister of Media, Dr. Essam Bin Saad Bin Saeed in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session.
The Cabinet affirmed the great interest of the government in raising the level of services provided to citizens and improving their quality, by maximizing the efficient use of resources and assets in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, including the allocation of SR 105 billion for water projects amounting to 1,355, as the first package under the five-year capital portfolio for the environment, water and agriculture system .
The Council of Ministers commended the leading role of the economic and structural reforms implemented under the vision which contributes to the achievement of sustainable and comprehensive economic growth in light of the increase in gross domestic product (GDP) of (11.8%) during the second quarter of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year 2021.
This is in addition to International Monetary Fund estimates that the Kingdom’s economy has registered the highest growth rate in the world, reaching (6.7%) in the current year (2022).
The Cabinet was informed of the subjects on its agenda, including the subjects in which the Shoura Council participated in its study.
The Cabinet also approved a cooperation agreement in the field of use and replacement of driving licenses between the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania.
It approved a memorandum of understanding in the area of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya.
Cabinet has approved a Memorandum of Understanding in the cultural field between the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia and the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland North.
She authorized the Minister of Tourism to discuss with the Djiboutian side a draft memorandum of cooperation in the field of tourism between the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Djibouti.
It approved a memorandum of understanding between the government of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Sultanate of Oman in the area of food and water security.
Cabinet approved Saudi Arabia’s accession to the Port State Measures Agreement to Prevent, Deter and Eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing.
It approved two agreements in the areas of employment of labor and domestic workers between the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Labor of Thailand.
The Council of Ministers authorized the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Régie Générale de l’Aviation Civile (GACA) to discuss with the French party the draft technical arrangements in the field of civil aviation between GACA and the Ministry of Transport of the French Republic.
It also approved the organizational arrangements of Mahd Sports Academy; creation of the Saudi Investment Promotion Authority and creation of the Public Roads Authority. — SPA
